Porto.art Announces Art in Blood, a New Exhibition Opening

Porto.art presents Art in Blood, an exhibition bringing together Polish artists Paulina Olowska, Zuzanna Olowska Hope and Krystyna Suchwallo to explore artistic inheritance, family connections and the transmission of ideas across generations.

The exhibition will take place at Porto.art from December 2 to 4, 2026.

Art in Blood brings together three artists connected by family, yet separated by generations, individual histories and distinct artistic languages. The exhibition explores how artistic sensibilities are shaped by the environments in which we grow up, the images we encounter, the stories we hear and the creative practices that become part of everyday life.

Rather than focusing on visual similarities, the exhibition looks at what passes quietly from one generation to the next: gestures, instincts, memories and ways of seeing. Each artist transforms this inheritance into an individual artistic language, revealing how family history can become a source of inspiration without defining the direction of one's work.

The exhibition asks what it means to inherit an artistic sensibility without consciously learning it, and how each generation preserves, questions or transforms what came before.

Sharing Polish Art in Porto

The exhibition reflects the mission of Porto.art, founded by Maja and Sebastian Mlodzinski, collectors of Polish art who created the space to share their collection and introduce audiences in Portugal to Polish artists and their work.

"For us, collecting Polish art is about much more than bringing works together. It is about discovering artists, understanding their worlds and building a personal relationship with the art we live with. Porto.art allows us to share that passion and create opportunities for people in Portugal to encounter Polish art in a direct and personal way," says Maja Mlodzinska, co-founder of Porto.art.

For three days, Porto.art will provide an intimate setting in which visitors can encounter the works of the three artists and explore the themes of family, memory and artistic identity.

In keeping with Porto.art's approach, the exhibition places emphasis on personal encounters, conversation and the experience of spending time with art.
